Jean Bevan is a Patron of Make-a-Wish and John Bevan is an Ambassador for Make-a-Wish. Bevan Kidwell has raised funds for Make-a-Wish for many years. Make-a-Wish is a fabulous charity that grants magical wishes to children and young people suffering from life threatening illnesses. The wishes can be as simple as being a fairy princess for a day to swimming with Dolphins in Florida. Sadly, many of the children die after their wishes have been granted, but the memories live on with their parents.
As part of their fund raising, Jean and John help organise the annual Spring Make-a-Wish Ball at the Dorchester Hotel (www.mawspringball.co.uk). This is held in May of each year and over the last 12 years the Ball, with its predecessor, The Valentine’s Ball, has raised in excess of £2.26m, all of which has gone directly to Make-a-Wish.

Make-A-Wish Spring Ball 2018
This was our first year for the Make-A-Wish Spring Ball, following on from the very successful Valentine’s Ball. What a storming success it was. We raised a net profit of about £260k – again down to all the generous people who donated prizes, bought tickets and came along on the night. A huge thank you to all our clients and friends.

Another amazingly successful Ball. Thanks again to everyone who attended; thanks also to our many generous clients who bought tickets and donated prizes. The 2017 Ball raised a net profit of around £239, all of which goes to grant wishes to very deserving children and young people.

16 March 2015 The Make-A-Wish Valentine’s Ball took place on February 14th 2015 in the Dorchester Hotel Ballroom. We estimate that approximately £200,000 net profit was raised on the night. This money goes directly to Make-A-Wish to help fulfill the wishes of children suffering from life threatening illnesses. We would like to say a huge thanks to all our clients, friends and family who, by attending on the night, donating gifts, and buying raffle tickets and auction prizes, played a crucial part in making the night a success. Around 400 guests attended on the night. The entertainment included the cast of Made in Dagenham (who performed many of the shows spectacular big numbers), Jermaine Jackman winner of The Voice, the Stella Man Dancers, plus the great live band Mixed Feelings- who kept us entertained way into the night with all the disco classics.
